Pharmacists serve as therapeutic advisors to health care providers; provide drug information to consumer; consult on the proper course of action in cases of accidental poisoning; monitor the extent to which patients take prescribed medication and assist in evaluating the therapeutic result; apply their knowledge of drug actions and effects to decrease the probability of adverse reactions; design, implement, and monitor drug therapy; and demonstrate the manner in which drugs can be beneficially utilized by society.
