Black Lives Matter

At the Academic Advising Center, we believe that Black Lives Matter. Events occurring across the country illustrate vast disparities in access to justice that can be tied directly to racial identities. The AAC commits to actively challenge these inequities through critical examination of the historical practices that have led to development and maintenance of systemic racism in higher education, and through recognizing the inherently political act of education and of academic advising. We must work intentionally toward becoming gateways for students, not gatekeepers.
