Advisor: Daniel Hernandez, 801-581-7175 AAC 235 [Map]
The Design Major will use product design as a vehicle to investigate design research, human centered design principles, interface development, articulation of product forms, materials and digital manufacturing principles. The curriculum will map design’s future through production, research, strategy, entrepreneurship and applied futurism, preparing students to be multi-disciplinary product designers, design researchers, product development experts, directors, practitioners, visionaries and leaders. Students must complete university generals and design pre-requisites as well as submit a portfolio to apply to the program. Course requirements and application process can be found at design.utah.edu.
