Operations Management (OM) involves working within an organization to oversee the quality and speed of business processes. OM students at the University of Utah’s David Eccles School of Business study a firm’s profitability, and how to improve process flows, enhance output quality, and manage the supply chain. OM students typically pursue careers in service and manufacturing firms to manage the transformation of inputs into outputs. The operations function also plays a role in developing new products and in product pricing. The OM program trains students how to think analytically and logically, giving them the ability to pursue any number of business careers.
