About Us

Ashley leads the Campuswide Advising Solutions team and collaborates with faculty, administrators, and university advisors to align advising services and resources with university student success initiatives. She has experience in academic advising, international education, first-year learning communities, and student programming, with a particular interest in helping students find belonging, purpose, and possibility through higher education. As a first-generation college student, Ashley cares deeply about creating systems, resources, and learning experiences that help both students and advisors feel connected to learning and excited by where education can take them. As an undergraduate, she majored in English and History before completing a Master’s degree in History at the University of Utah. Outside of work, she enjoys rewatching old seasons of Survivor and RuPaul’s Drag Race, spending time with her family (wife, two kiddos, and one cat), and thrifting for treasures.

David has been with the Navigate Hub for Exploring Students and Campus Advising Solutions since March 1996. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in French (plus a Secretarial Certificate) from the University of Utah and attended the University of Washington for one year.

Emily is passionate about helping students and advisors identify their strengths, build confidence, and navigate meaningful pathways toward growth and success. Her work centers on creating engaging, people-centered learning experiences that strengthen advising practice and foster connection across the university community. Emily joined the Campus Advising Solutions team in April 2024. She is a University of Utah alumna with a B.A. in English, a post-master’s degree in Educational Psychology from Brooklyn College (CUNY), and certified as an ICF life coach. Outside of work, Emily can usually be found gardening, experimenting with new recipes, or chilling with her cat Boo.

Amber serves on the T&D team and is focused on advising strategy, training design, and student support systems. She has experience in academic advising, student affairs, onboarding, and educational technology, with a special interest in helping staff build confidence with tools, systems, and student-centered practices. Amber cares deeply about creating learning experiences that are approachable, empowering, and genuinely human. Before stepping into campuswide advising training, she worked in residential education and student engagement roles supporting various student communities. When she’s not at work, Amber enjoys spending time with her family (partner, kiddo, & 2 cats), reading, and watching Colorado Avalanche hockey.

Cassidy is an innovative learning experience designer who thrives on turning complex professional development challenges into engaging, human-centered solutions. Currently serving as the Campuswide Advisor Training Coordinator, she leverages a unique blend of analytical strategy, artistic creativity, and dynamic presentation skills to design high-impact educational programming. Since entering higher education full-time in 2018, Cassidy has kept the evolving needs of adult learners at the center of her work. Backed by a Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education and a Master’s in Management and Leadership, she effortlessly bridges foundational learning methods with visionary leadership and inventive problem-solving. Outside of work, Cassidy is passionate about the arts, health and wellness, sharing laughter, spending time with her son, and cheering on her favorite teams.

Madeline graduated from the U with Honors B.S. degrees in Psychology & Health, Society & Policy, & a B.S. in International Studies with Minors in Leadership Studies & Health. She graduated in 2018 with her Master’s Degree in International Relations from Royal Holloway, University of London.

Emily is an alumna of the University of Wyoming and Western Wyoming Community College. She joined the Campus Advising Solutions team in 2024 after working in the Office of Orientation & Student Success at SLCC. During her time there, Emily advised and advocated for first-generation and traditionally underrepresented students, as well as English Language Learners. Before pursuing a career in higher education, Emily taught in the Dual Language Immersion program in Canyons School District for 7 years. Her passion lies in helping students find a sense of belonging at the university and exploring all the choices and possibilities available to them in their college experience. Outside of work, you'll find Emily at the theatre, watching women's sports, or on a walk with her partner and their little old man dog, Freddie.

Shelby graduated from The University of Nevada, Reno with her B.S. and M.S. in Human Development and Family Studies. Shelby is passionate about helping individuals achieve their academic, personal, and professional goals through a developmentally appropriate and holistic approach. In her free time, Shelby enjoys traveling, cooking up new recipes, gardening, and re-watching her favorite period dramas.

Bree Nguyen is the Credit for Prior Learning Liaison, where she helps students explore Credit for Prior Learning (CPL) opportunities, including Portfolio-Based Assessment (PBA) and Joint Services Transcript (JST) evaluation. She brings nearly a decade of experience in higher education, spanning program management, college access, advising, and student support. Bree holds a B.A. in Technical and Professional Writing and a M.S. in Management and Leadership.

As a former concurrent enrollment and transfer student herself, Bree is committed to helping students recognize the value of the knowledge and experiences they bring into higher education. Outside of work, you can usually find her spending time with her family or working on their small family farm.

Jeannette earned two bachelor’s degrees in Mass Communication and English Literature, along with a Master of Public Administration—all from the University of Utah (Go Utes!). She is passionate about student success and believes strongly in the transformative power of higher education. Her work is rooted in creating supportive, inclusive spaces where students feel empowered to reach their academic, personal, and professional goals. Outside the office, you’ll usually find her with either a book or paintbrush in hand, or wrangling her three dogs.

Hannah joined the team in June 2022. Originally from Oklahoma, she double majored in Spanish & Psychology as an undergrad at Hendrix College and went on to earn an M.Ed. from the University of Texas at Austin. Hannah is passionate about supporting students in building community in college. Outside of work, she is an avid podcast listener who is always on the hunt for the next great dog park to explore with her wife and their pup!

Amanda is a Utah native who graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Utah with a double major in Psychology and Communication. She began her career in mental healthcare and found opportunities within the field to help youth get their education back on track after experiencing mental health challenges. Amanda also spent time working in university housing operations and residence life case management.

After joining Campus Advising Solutions in 2023, Amanda started working with Academic Standards students and now also coordinates the Milestone Advising Program. Her background in mental healthcare informs her advising approach, and her experience in higher education influences her contributions to campuswide programming.

After work, you can find Amanda at the rock climbing gym, relaxing at home with her cat Zoey, or hiking with her labra-heeler, Ollie.

Stephanie brings over a decade of higher education experience to her role as Program Manager, with a background in academic advising specializing in undecided and exploring students, transfer students, and those navigating academic standing. A proud University of Utah alumni, she has a deep appreciation for the student experience both personally and professionally. Stephanie leads with empathy and is committed to creating a supportive space where students feel comfortable exploring their options and making confident, informed decisions that align with their unique goals and values.

Outside the office, she enjoys reading, cooking, and the outdoors – and spending time with her husband, two kids, and their chocolate lab.
