Attention all new transfer students! We have an event just for you! This is information and connections we feel are most beneficial at the start of the Spring 2023 semester. Did you know that many scholarships for Fall semester are due at the end of January or beginning of February? Join the first part of the Welcome with a transfer workshop with presenters from 7 different scholarship granting offices! This is a great chance to hear from a wide variety of scholarship offices all at once. Workshop accessible in person or over Zoom. Everyone is welcome to get the scholarship information over Zoom. After the workshop, stay for a FREE lunch where you will have a chance to eat lunch with a variety of faculty and staff at the U of U that work directly with transfer students. This is a chance to get to know supportive faculty and offices on campus while having lunch. The Crimson Transfer Honor Society (CTHS) student organization will also be there doing a small service project and will also have some activities for children if you are a student parent.
The Resume Round Up Listing
The University of Utah (U of U) is taking part in celebrating National Transfer Student Week (NTSW), which is October 17 – 21. You can see the U of U's list of events here: https://transfer.utah.edu/nationaltransferstudentweek.php NTSW is sponsored by the National Institute for the Study of Transfer Students (NISTS) and the goals of the week are to acknowledge and celebrate transfer students, build awareness of transfer student barriers and successes, and instill transfer pride on our campus. There will be lots of food, information and workshops relevant to transfer students, opportunities for transfer students to have their voices heard, as well as be spotlighted on campus.
Learning Abroad Week will take place both in-person and online October 3-7. All week, the Learning Abroad office will highlight different programs, scholarships and on-campus offices involved in helping students “Go Global.” Students are invited to schedule Zoom sessions with learning abroad advisors throughout the week. Then, on Wednesday, October 5, students can meet faculty directors, affiliate provider reps, and past exchange participants in person at the Union Ballroom from 11 a.m.–2 p.m. All Learning Abroad programs will be on display, students can find their ideal learning abroad program! While at the in-person fair on October 5, students can pick up a voucher for lunch at a food truck on the Union patio (first-come, first-served), and register for an opportunity to win a U Asia Campus letterman jacket. There is also a Transfer Workshop focusing on student experiences as part of Learning Abroad Week on Friday, October 7 at 2pm in the Sill Center Large Conference Room and Zoom.
