Connect 2 Health Volunteer Opportunities

Connect2Health is a University of Utah volunteer program that seeks to address the social determinants of health in our communities. Volunteers meet one-on-one with underserved patients to provide them access to information regarding public benefits, food, clothing, housing, and more. Volunteers integrate and collaborate closely with healthcare teams at sites such as the University of Utah Hospital, Primary Children’s Hospital, and the Fourth Street Clinic to create more personalized holistic care for our patients. Many Health Mentors are students headed towards careers in medicine, nursing, social work, and other health care related fields, however, we accept applicants from all majors. They are currently offering volunteer opportunities serving in person as well as serving virtually.

The commitment for a General Volunteer/Health Mentor is one 3 or 4-hour shift per week and a 1-hour bimonthly meeting for two consecutive semesters. For more information about being a general volunteer contact our Recruitment Chair at Connect2Health.Recruitment@health.utah.edu.

Connect2Health is also affiliated with AmeriCorps. AmeriCorps (AC) is a non-profit organization. AC Members provide support to hundreds of community organizations through direct service and capacity building efforts.

Being an AC member with Connect2Health, you will get an education award ($1,374.60) for successfully completing your term, increase personal growth in a professional setting, receive a Certificate of National Service, and build upon your resume.

Application deadline: November 23, 2021
