Medical Admissions Preparatory Program

The University of Utah School of Medicine Office of Health Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion partners would like to invite underrepresented and underserved students in medicine to apply to the Medical Admissions Preparatory Program (MAPP).

MAPP is designed to assist premedical students from underrepresented backgrounds prepare for the MCAT and strengthen their medical school application. This is an eight-week virtual program that runs from June 13 – August 5, 2022.

To be eligible to apply, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Must be from an underrepresented and/or underserved population in medicine (i.e., African American/Black, Latinx/Hispanic, American Indian/Alaska Native, Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander
  • AND/OR first-generation college students and/or those with demonstrated financial need
  • College junior, senior, master’s student, or recent college or master’s graduate.
  • Completed at least two years of undergraduate science or premed coursework.
  • A minimum overall GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale is required at the college level.

Applications must be received by April 22, 2022. Selected applicants will be notified by May 6, 2022.
