Program Description
The Real Estate minor is a Finance minor that prepares students for work in commercial real estate. In addition to foundational finance concepts, students will also learn financial modeling and the principles of real estate finance. Students completing the minor will build a highly quantitative and analytical skillset that will prepare them to excel in real estate finance and real estate development.
Students will, through their coursework, familiarize themselves with: real estate financial underwriting, real estate investment analysis and assessment, real estate due diligence, real estate economic analysis, real estate capital markets, and the basics of real estate law. There is also a strong focus on professional integrity across the minor’s coursework.
Please note that the Real Estate minor does not prepare students for residential brokerage, focusing solely on commercial real estate.
Students interested in the minor are encouraged to attend a Finance information session. Details of upcoming sessions can be found at eccles.link/events. Students are also encouraged to attend a meeting of the Real Estate Club.
