Getting Started
Workshop
The Getting Started Workshop is excellent for students who have not taken UGS 1050 and would like to learn how to explore their options or even how to help validate their own major decision. We’ll discuss how to explore majors and careers, how to take your own characteristics and preferences into consideration, and how to approach making a decision on a major—and any other decisions! Getting Started: Major Exploration is scheduled for
February 2nd from 3-4pm.
*participants must register and may do so at any point prior to or during the workshop!
Major Changing
Workshop
The Major Changing Workshop is geared toward students who may be farther into their overall degree but have realized they might not be in the right fit, or who want to add something extra to their degree. It’s great for transfer students as well! We’ll discuss concerns around extending your time at the U and how to incorporate skills from previous classes. Major Changing is scheduled for
March 2nd from 4-5pm.
*participants must register and may do so at any point prior to or during the workshop!
Strong Interest Inventory Workshop
The Strong Interest Inventory® (SII) is a respected and widely used instrument for major/career exploration and planning. With its reputation for being useful to students at various stages in their major exploration journey, the Major Exploration Program is happy to offer an opportunity allowing current students to take the assessment free of charge and then attend a workshop to learn more about the assessment and your individual results. This website will be updated when the workshop is full. All current students who are considering their major options are welcome to register at the link below
March 23rd from 3-4pm.
*registration will close on March 1st or earlier depending on capacity
