The Major Expo is an event that showcases the programs and resources available to current and prospective students. It is a great opportunity to meet and connect with academic advisors and reps from across campus to learn more about EVERY major, minor, and certificate! There will also be reps from various offices and organizations across campus to share details about engagement opportunites and campus resources.
Whether you are completely undecided or are fully declared (come explore minor and certificate opportunities), this event is great for everyone!
How Does It Work?
On February 15th from 10am to 2pm, faculty, academic advisors, campus staff, and student representatives of the university will be tabling in the A. Ray Olpin Student Union Ballroom. It’s a meet-and-greet setting: drop in and chat informally with the experts from a program, gather information, and enjoy some face time with professors and staff in an inviting, friendly atmosphere. The key here is casual. No appointments, no plans, no transcripts – just a place to talk about the fields of study that interest you.
Finding a major you enjoy often results in earning higher grades, building stronger interpersonal networks, and increasing professional skills while completing a degree. It means finding a deeper and more satisfying U of U experience and creating better opportunities for life after graduation. An event like this supports your major exploration process in an easy, stress-free environment. If you already have a major, come and learn about minors, certificates, research, service and leadership projects, and career opportunities!
