Need-Based Scholarships for Learning Abroad and International Internships

Think that you can’t afford to participate in exciting international educational experiences?  Think again!  The Learning Abroad Office offers a variety of need-based scholarships to make a studying or interning abroad possible for all students.

The U.S. Department of State’s Gilman Scholarship (up to $5,000)

Undergraduate Pell Grant eligible students whose programs start between December 1, 2021 and October 31, 2022 can now apply for this scholarship! Virtual opportunities are eligible for funding through Summer 2022. Deadline: October 5, 2021

The U.S. Department of State’s Gilman-McCain Scholarship ($5,000)

Undergraduate child dependents of active duty service members whose programs start between December 1, 2021 and October 31, 2022 can now apply for this scholarship! Applicants must also qualify for Title IV federal financial aid. Virtual opportunities are eligible for funding through Summer 2022. Deadline: October 5, 2021

The Office for Global Engagement Financial Need Scholarship( $3,500)

Undergraduate and graduate students whose Learning Abroad or Hinckley Global Internships take place at any point during the 2022 calendar year can now apply for this scholarship! Virtual opportunities are eligible. Deadline: October 1, 2021.
