Program Description
The Ballet Studio Teaching certificate provides students an opportunity to study how to teach studio ballet. Students focus on an understanding of dance history, pedagogy, kinesiology, and choreographic process, as well as technique and teaching practicum courses.
Acceptance to the Ballet Studio Teaching certificate is by audition only.
Ballet students interested in declaring the Ballet Studio Teaching certificate can do so by meeting with a College of Fine Arts Academic Advisor.
The Student Experience
Students will take courses focused both on teaching methods and application of those methods. Examples of courses include ballet pedagogy, dance production, teaching ballet practicum, human development, psychology, and business.
Career Opportunities
The Ballet Studio Teaching Certificate prepares students to teach and manage private studios as well as prepare them for advanced study in the field.
