Quantitative Analysis of Markets & Organizations


Program Description

Quantitative Analysis of Markets & Organizations (QAMO) majors builds analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills by utilizing game theory and econometrics to answer real-world questions. Students learn strategic direction and in-depth analysis. Developed jointly with the University of Utah’s Department of Economics, this major includes advanced courses in mathematics, statistics, economics, and business. QAMO students may also choose optional emphases in the various business disciplines such as entrepreneurship, finance, management, and marketing. The Student Experience

Students in the Quantitative Analysis of Markets & Organizations major, fondly called QAMO, have many opportunities to gain real-world, hands-on experience throughout their undergraduate careers. Students can engage with the Business Economics Society or manage real-life investments on Wall Street with the Student Investment Fund. QAMO majors also can find interesting research and mentoring opportunities through the Marriner S. Eccles Institute for Economics and Quantitative Analysis.

Career Opportunities

A bachelor’s degree in QAMO prepares students for careers in a variety of industries including accounting, consulting, financial services, technology, and government. Graduates go on to work for companies such as Ernst & Young, Goldman Sachs, URS, Epic Games, Cicero, and more.
